Specifications for Digital Files.
|
|
As a rule your initial JPEG file (which relies on lossy compression and selectively discards data each time it is saved) should be saved as a TIFF file (which uses lossless techniques to compress the file without removing any image detail or color information.). All work can be done as a TIFF file and continuously saved as a TIFF. When all work is done and the file is ready to send to magazines or newspapers etc. the following chart can be used as a guide. NOTE: Please be aware of the quality issues encountered when resampling an image, especially upward.
